Lucy Liu was born in the United States. Liu is an American actor, singer and voice actor. She's a beautiful, skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. A series of successful early roles in a popular TV show resulted in her being famous for joining the cast of Ally McBeal, where she was Ling Woo. Following a dramatic rise in popularity, the actress was offered roles on major screens such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding as Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In this period she was the main character in a few flops in the field including Rise: Blood Hunter. In later years, she worked as a voice actress in animated films, including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason from Cashmere Mafia was a minor role that did not have any effect. Southland - a critically acclaimed crime-drama - established Liu as an actress of the future. Liu takes great care in selecting her roles, so she doesn't get typecast. Liu has taken on her Chinese heritage however she has not let them limit her artistically.
